2014 National Roundtable on Indigenous Access Education

Professor Bronwyn Fredericks from CQUniversity, along with Professor Steven Larkin from Charles Darwin University and Bonnie Chew from Federation University Australia, invite all interested people to attend a National Roundtable on Indigenous Access Education.

The one-and-a-half day event will start with an evening BBQ at 5pm until 8pm at the Dreamtime Cultural Centre (Bruce Highway, Rockhampton) on Thursday 4 December, followed by a day-long Roundtable commencing at 9am on Friday 5 December at Building 29/G.07 on CQUniversity’s Rockhampton campus.

The Roundtable’s proceedings will include:
  • Keynote presentations by Professor Graham Hingangaroa Smith, CEO & Vice-Chancellor of Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiarangi: Indigenous-University and Wendy Ludwig, Director of Operations Indigenous Leadership, Australian Centre for Indigenous Knowledges & Education, Charles Darwin University
  • A student panel of current and past students undertaking enabling/bridging programs such as TEP & STEPS, and
  • A workshop session to develop some best practice guidelines for enabling/bridging programs.

The Roundtable is being held as part of Professor Fredericks’ NCSEHE 2014 Research Grant project, ‘Best practice bridging: facilitating Indigenous participation through regional dual-sector universities.’
