Professor Bronwyn Fredericks from CQUniversity, along with Professor Steven Larkin from Charles Darwin University and Bonnie Chew from Federation University Australia, invite all interested people to attend a National Roundtable on Indigenous Access Education.
The one-and-a-half day event will start with an evening BBQ at 5pm until 8pm at the Dreamtime Cultural Centre (Bruce Highway, Rockhampton) on Thursday 4 December, followed by a day-long Roundtable commencing at 9am on Friday 5 December at Building 29/G.07 on CQUniversity’s Rockhampton campus.
- Keynote presentations by Professor Graham Hingangaroa Smith, CEO & Vice-Chancellor of Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiarangi: Indigenous-University and Wendy Ludwig, Director of Operations Indigenous Leadership, Australian Centre for Indigenous Knowledges & Education, Charles Darwin University
- A student panel of current and past students undertaking enabling/bridging programs such as TEP & STEPS, and
- A workshop session to develop some best practice guidelines for enabling/bridging programs.
The Roundtable is being held as part of Professor Fredericks’ NCSEHE 2014 Research Grant project, ‘Best practice bridging: facilitating Indigenous participation through regional dual-sector universities.’
