Research participants needed: Examination of recruitment and support practices for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in health studies

NCSEHE Equity Fellow Dr Andrea Simpson is conducting a project looking at how we can best support First Nations students in health studies.

Andrea is seeking the views of higher education staff in student admissions/student support/Indigenous support/Indigenous engagement and/or course coordination via a 15-minute online survey.

If you have more than 15 minutes and are keen, Andrea would love to chat to you in person.

The research is being conducted by La Trobe University to learn more about best practice in the recruitment of and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. This information is hoped to assist us in ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students receive the support, information and care required to complete their tertiary studies and ultimately increase the number of health professionals required to meet the health needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.

Taking part in this research study is optional. We are looking for people who want to take part in this research and who are:

  • working in the high education or vocational educational sectors, and

If you decide to take part in the research, you may choose to participate via an online survey, individual online interview, or online focus group. You may choose to participate in one, two or all three of these options. If you choose to participate in one or more of these activities, we would:
