Participation in higher education online: Demographics, motivators and grit

NCSEHE Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Dr Cathy Cupitt, recently presented her preliminary work on online learners. In this session, Cathy discusses her findings on students’ motivations for studying online, their levels of engagement in the learning process, and the notion of grit (based on Duckworth et al.’s 2007 work), a learned and acquirable skill.
