Call for case study submissions: Higher education participation and completion of regional/remote students
The NCSEHE has funded a diverse range of high-quality equity research over the past four years. The NCSEHE also tapped into the collective expertise of the sector at its policy forum in Canberra late last year to inform policy priorities for the medium term through Ten Conversations. The Ten Conversations aimed to unpack complex and multifaceted issues associated with equity policy, practice and research. The outputs from the Ten Conversations can be viewed here.
Building on the insights generated through these discussions, we are trialling a new strategy of synthesising, codifying and disseminating learnings from research and practice. As part of the trial, NCSEHE is organising two expert workshops in 2017. These will explore topics raised during the Ten Conversations from research, practice and policy perspectives. The aims of the workshops are to:
- Define a collective knowledge base informed by research and practice
- Engage in strategic and action planning to guide institutional practice and future research
- Develop evidence-informed policy advice
Each workshop will consist of a small group of about 10 experts, including researchers, practitioners, policy makers or community partners. The insights generated during the workshop will inform a suite of resources, including a practice guide to distribute across the sector as well as recommendations for policy makers and university leaders.
We would be interested to learn about effective institutional strategies and programs closely related to the workshop topics and will be incorporating case studies of successful university initiatives into these sessions.
We are currently inviting case studies relevant to our second workshop:
Higher Education participation and completion of regional/remote students
- Location: University of Western Australia
- Date: Tuesday 17 October 2017
In the first instance, we invite you to forward the initiative’s title and brief description of its objectives, approach and outcomes to assist us in identifying case studies for inclusion in the workshops.
Please forward this information to NCSEHE Legacy Project Officer, Melissa Willcocks Melissa.firstname.lastname@example.org, by Friday 8 September 2017 if you are interested in submitting a good practice case study for one of the topical workshops.
Please contact Nadine Zacharias email@example.com for any queries about the workshops and potential initiatives for inclusion.
