Tas Tech 2018: The Tasmanian forum showcasing assistive technology solutions for education and employment.

In our digital age, technology is increasingly opening up exciting opportunities for people with disability to successfully participate in study and work.

The TAS TECH 2018 forum is playing host to some of Australia’s leading experts in inclusive technology. The events focus will be on the latest computer software and Apps as well as other exciting developments in technology, which supports participation in education and employment for people with disability.

The introduction of the screenreader on the iPhone 3GS in 2009 changed the nature of assistive technology forever. By designing the device using the principles of universal design and ensuring accessible features were built right in, it heralded the demise of many forms of bespoke assistive technologies and brought assistive technology into the mainstream in a socially valued and inclusive device.
