About this Event

This webinar from National Association of Enabling Educators of Australia (NAEEA) will discuss The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student and teacher experience through COVID-19. Many of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students tend to be visual/auditory/kinaesthetic learners who had to engage with learning in different ways in an online learning environment.

Discussion will focus around Indigenous pedagogies and the “8 ways of Indigenous learning”, and how these were adapted and changed to cater for an online learning environment.

The presenters will touch on their own teacher experience as well as feedback received from students.

Presenters:

  • Miss Hannah Pipe, Indigenous Enabling Learning Advisor, University of Newcastle
  • Mr Dan Collins, Acting Convenor, Yapug Program, University of Newcastle

Chair:

  • Dr. Pranit Anand, Lecturer, Queensland University of Technology & Executive Committee – NAEEA
