Event Details
Online Event (AWST)

Initiatives designed with, and for, Pasifika peoples are key to increased participation and retention in Higher Education.

Pasifika peoples in Australia are a heterogenous, multi-ethnic community with diverse cultural identities and languages, recognised across 23 different Pacific ancestries. Despite these differences, Pacific communities share common cultural value structures including service, reciprocity, identity, belonging, respect, spirituality, community and family.

When designing educational initiatives there are fundamental principles and values that are important to consider in the design process and understanding these are critical to successful educational outcomes for Pacific learners.

Join Amanda Moors-Mailei (UTS) and Bronwyn Williams (WSU) as they discuss how nuanced and culturally appropriate design can lead to better engagement outcomes and empower Australian-Pacific learners.
