Overview
In the higher education sector this has had profound influence on learning, teaching and assessment practices, as well as representation in leadership positions, how institutions are lead and governed. Inquisitions into the nature of equality, diversity and inclusion, as well as how these aspects are enacted across the education sector have been central to many debates. While this has moved the conversations forward in many areas, it has also created a need to understand and further interrogate our personal and professional relationships with these topics. This two-module workshop will introduce the latest insights and learning for the sector for challenging privilege and navigating intersectionality.
Workshop aims
Advance HE’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) awareness workshop is designed to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence to adopt an intersectional approach to understanding and dealing effectively with a range of equality and diversity issues in the workplace.
Who should attend?
This workshop will appeal to a wide range of audiences within the sector. In particular, anyone involved in teaching and/or management, interested in improving inclusivity of their practice.
This virtual workshop runs as two half-day modules. Dates: 6 and 20 October.
