In this webinar, Troy Waller will help you personalise Microsoft’s Immersive Reader for your own experience and to motivate your students to achieve their fullest potential.
The Microsoft Immersive Reader is a free tool, built into Word, OneNote, Outlook, Office Lens, Microsoft Teams, Forms, Flipgrid, Minecraft Education Edition and the Edge browser, that implement proven techniques to improve reading and writing for people regardless of their age or ability. It aids with independent reading and comprehension. Because it lives in so many different apps and platforms, it is helping readers with many different aspects of access. There are features within this tool that read text out loud, break it into syllables, and provide options for visual layout, such as spacing between lines and letters, or colour themes. Immersive Reader can help improve reading comprehension by:
- increasing fluency for EAL learners or readers of other languages
- offering text decoding solutions for students with learning differences such as dyslexia
- providing translation of words, or the entire text into over 60 languages (over 40 of them can be read aloud).
