The Australian Centre for Student Equity and Success acknowledges Indigenous peoples across Australia as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which the nation’s campuses are situated. With a history spanning more than 60,000 years as the original educators, Indigenous peoples hold a unique place in our nation. We recognise the importance of their knowledge and culture, and reflect the principles of participation, equity, and cultural respect in our work. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future, and consider it an honour to learn from our Indigenous colleagues, partners, and friends.

About the Symposium

The 2022 Student Voice Australia Symposium will bring together staff and students from Australian higher education institutions to examine the positionality and role of students as essential partners in decision-making and governance now and into the future.

SVA are thrilled to welcome three international scholars to keynote this year’s Symposium: Dr Manja Klemenčič (Harvard University), who will speak about student agency, and Lovisa Håkansson and Dr Ulrike Schnaas (Uppsala University), who will explore institutional-wide practices that foster democratic sustainable futures at and beyond the university.

Visit the Student Voice Australia website to find out more about the Symposium, register for the free two-day event, and submit your abstract: https://studentvoiceaustralia.com/2022-symposium
