2017 EPHEA Conference – Queensland

The biennial EPHEA conference is as a key professional development forum for equity practitioners in a wide range of fields to highlight best practice in student and staff equity. Equity practitioners across the higher education sectors in Australia, New Zealand/Pacific and internationally are invited to participate.
This year’s theme is ‘Re-imagining equity: now and in the future’ and offers participants opportunities to share ideas and good practice, stimulate innovation, and foster continued professional development as we continue to engage in an ever-changing environment.
The 2017 Equity Practitioners in Higher Education Australasia is open to all equity practitioners working in Higher Education in Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
The conference will feature an exciting array of keynote speakers as well as opportunities to highlight good practice across both student and staff equity activity.
Keynotes and participants have been invited to share their insights across six major areas of practice:
- Access and widening participation
- Human rights, equity & social justice
- First peoples
- Workplace equity, diversity & inclusion
- Disability, ability and accessibility
This year the NCSEHE will be hosting its Fellows Forum, highlighting the good practice of the 2017 Equity Fellows.
Griffith University is located in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast with campuses at Southbank (Queensland College of Art and Queensland Conservatorium), Nathan, Mt Gravatt, Logan and the Gold Coast. Utilising the Southbank Campus for the majority of Conference events will mean delegates will have access to all Brisbane has to offer in terms of accommodation, convenient transport and attractions.
