Dr Carla Houkamau presents Unconscious Bias and Education
Dr Carla Houkamau from the University of Auckland in New Zealand visited the NCSEHE in early September 2016. Whilst Carla was in Perth, she gave a presentation on her recent work with co-authors Mr Anton Blank (Oranui Ltd) and Dr. Hautahi Kingi (Cornell University). Carla discusses the New Zealand education system, challenges faced by Māori students and their teachers, public perceptions, bias and race.
