Ability, Equity, and Culture: Sustaining Inclusive Urban Education Reform

Dr Kathleen King Thorius, principal investigator at the Great Lakes Equity Centre based in Indiana USA, and Dr Elizabeth Kozleski, professor and Chair of Special Education at the University of Kansas, have co-edited a book titled Ability, Equity, and Culture: Sustaining Inclusive Urban Education Reform.

Published by Teachers College Press, the book details examples of the work researchers, activists, and educators have done to transform schools and classrooms from deficit models to culturally responsive models, in order to meet the needs of all learners. Bringing together research and practice by way of chapters co-authored by practitioner/researcher teams, the book is a must-read for equity practitioners, reformers, and researchers everywhere.
